Columbus Young Professionals Commit to Give Back to the Community at “Days of Action”

Over 100 local Young Professionals have committed to make a difference in the community by giving over 300 volunteer hours to area non-profits during a two day span; Friday April 10th and Saturday, April 11th. This event is hosted by the Greater Columbus Georgia Young Professionals (YP), a program of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Days of Action is an opportunity for YP’s to fulfill their driven initiative to give back to the community Young Professionals members were encouraged to invite their, co-workers, friends and even family members to participate at the Days of Action. There are still opportunities to participate in this servant leadership activity information can be found at www.ypcolumbusga.com, those that register will receive a “Days of Action” t-shirt. 

The Days of Action Opportunities Include:

Habitat for Humanity 

Shifts from 8:00am - 4:00pm 

Help create housing for those in need. 

Columbus Community Center 

8:00am-12:00pm 

Re-painting classrooms in the building 

Food4KidsUSA* 

3:30-5:00pm 

Stuffing backpacks for kids in need

SATURDAY, APRIL 11TH 

Boys & Girls Club* 

10:00am- 2:00pm 

Room Makeovers, painting 

Easter Seals 

8:30am-12:00pm 

Painting several rooms in building 

Girls, Inc. 

1:00pm-3:00pm 

Landscaping, organizing classrooms 

Literacy Alliance* 

11:00am-2:00pm 

Participate in a book drive to provide kids in need with new reading materials. 

House of T.I.M.E. 

Shifts: 10:00am-2:00pm
