Executives with Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce will be focusing on following-up with business leaders they met last week while attended the Hannover Messe Fair in Hannover, Germany.

At Hannover Messe, Bill Murphy, EVP and Brian Sillitto SVP promoted the Columbus, Georgia Region and met with 20 prospective companies.

“This trip provides an incredible opportunity to sell the benefits of locating in the Columbus Region to a number of the world’s premier manufacturers,” Bill Murphy said. “As we confirmed in the Regional Prosperity Initiative, part of our strategy is to tell the world that Columbus is an exceptional location for manufacturing. Our mission is to actively recruit international companies and showcase why they should choose the Columbus, Georgia region their next major project. We enjoy a strong economic relationship with companies from South Korea, Japan, Germany and Canada.  We intend to build on that existing strength.”

Hannover Messe is the world’s largest industrial fair with approximately 6,500 exhibitors and more than 200,000 visitors annually from more than 70 countries. The event began in 1947 and covers all areas of industrial technology. The United States was featured as the partner country at this year’s event and included a significant presence from state and regional economic development organizations from across the country. The show highlighted industrial automation, the digital factory, energy, research and technology and industrial supply. Additionally, nearly 1,300 speakers from across the world discussed the future of manufacturing on a global scale.

“There is no better way than speaking in-person with industry executives at Hannover Messe to demonstrate our community’s commitment to providing first-class service to existing and potential corporate partners,” said Brian Sillitto. “This trip takes abroad our messages about our region’s vibrant economy, advanced manufacturing capabilities and location advantages.”
