Zack Bishop to Join Synovus as EVP of Technology and Operations

Synovus Financial Corp. announced the appointment of Zack Bishop as executive vice president of technology and operations. Bishop previously served as EVP and chief information officer of Renasant Bank.

“Zack has extensive experience leading technology and operations, delivering digital banking systems, recognizing emerging technologies, building scalable network infrastructures, managing mergers and acquisitions, and guiding system integration,” said Kessel D. Stelling, chairman and CEO of Synovus. “Investments in innovation and technology that enhance the customer experience and help us more efficiently deliver products and services are key to our continued growth. We’re pleased to have Zack leading our efforts.”

As EVP and CIO of Renasant, Bishop was responsible for all digital, electronic, and internet operations, including infrastructure, technology, mobile and online banking, and information security. Under his leadership, Renasant developed a strong reputation for technology and digital applications among Southeastern banks. Bishop also had primary responsibility for integrating technology and systems of six acquired banks.

Before joining Renasant in 2013, Bishop held a number of technology and systems leadership positions with Regions Bank, including senior vice president and head of corporate systems, vice president and director of enterprise applications, and vice president of mortgage systems. Bishop’s banking career began in 1994 at Union Planters Bank.
