The Board Directors of the Lower Chattahoochee Direct Service Corp (Direct Services) is pleased to announce the confirmation of Amy Bryan as the new Chief Executive Officer of Direct Services. Bryan comes from the position as Executive Vice President of Leadership & Community Development.

“Amy has been in integral part of the Chamber of Commerce for over 13 years, she will be sorely missed but we are excited to watch her flourish in her new role and continue to be a great asset to the Columbus Community” said Pace Halter, COO of WC Bradley Real Estate and Chair of the Chamber.

The search for the new Chief Executive Officer began in September of last year. The search was facilitated by the volunteer effort of Gary Landwirth, CEO of the non-profit management and executive search and development firm Giving Ideas, LLC in Asheville, NC.

From review of, and interview with, qualified candidates selected from nation-wide data submissions the Board of Directors of Direct Services consisting of Chairman John W. Roper, Stephen Cooper, retiring CEO Scott Bryan, Robert L. Wadkins, Jr., Walker Garrett, Jennifer Dunlap and Dennis P. McPherson selected Bryan.

Bryan is the third CEO in the 43-year history of Direct Services. With assistance of staff and dedicated volunteers Direct Services presently prepares and provides more than 330,000 hot home delivered meals to qualified seniors through its flagship Meals on Wheels operation in an eight-county area in the Chattahoochee region and subcontracts to its counterpart serving the Flint River Agency on Aging. Additionally, Direct Services offers Community Care and Homemaker Assistance services, Caregiver Timeout and Senior Congregate Centers.

“I have been following Direct Services for the last several years and have watched the organization grow in the Chattahoochee Valley and beyond. I look forward to working with the incredibly dedicated professional team to continue accelerating the mission of Direct Services.” Bryan said.

“Amy Bryan has extensive leadership experience from the Chamber and has demonstrated her ability in building successful operations that benefit the regional business community as well as excellence in volunteer stewardship and fund raising. We are confident that she will be a force in developing and driving Direct Services forward – in a very exciting but also challenging time,” said Roper.

Bryan is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and is an alumna of Leadership Columbus and has served extensively in volunteer effort and board service in community service groups.
