CSU’s Week of Excellence Announced

Columbus State University’s inaugural Week of Excellence is scheduled for April 18 through April 22. Events throughout the week will celebrate student academic achievements:

  • Phi Kappa Phi Induction, Tuesday, April 19, at 6:00 p.m., to promote excellence in all academic disciplines and to recognize outstanding achievement by students and faculty. This is a virtual event on Zoom.

  • Passing the Gavel, Thursday, April 21, 12:30 p.m., at the Davidson Auditorium, signifies the official transition in leadership and installation of the officers for the Student Government Association (SGA).

  • President's ROTC Review, Thursday, April 21, 1:30 p.m., at the Whitley Clock Tower on Main Campus is a military awards ceremony to recognize CSU’s Cougar Battalion cadets. Guests will include active servicemembers and veterans from the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and other military organizations.

  • Tower Day, Friday, April 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Cunningham Center, is a showcase of student academic and creative endeavors with students from all majors presenting their research.

  • Senior Toast, Friday, April 22 at noon at the Whitley Clock Tower on Main Campus, sponsored by CSU Alumni Association is a celebratory toast and photo with CSU President Chris Markwood and Alumni Association President Cortney Wilson.

  • Scholastic Honors Convocation, Friday, April 22 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Center, celebrates and honors student award recipients across all colleges and throughout the university’s academic disciplines.

“Our week of excellence allows the entire campus community to come together, spotlight as many students as possible, and celebrate the accomplishments in grand fashion,” said Dr. Alicia Bryan, associate provost and associate vice president for faculty affairs and academic innovation. “It is my hope that more organizations will use this week in the coming years to highlight the great work our students have done and will continue to do in the future.”
