The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley will host its Inaugural Corporate Youth of the Year event on March 13, 2014, at the National Infantry Museum at 7pm. Caleshia Ferguson, Joseph Knight, Jr., Austin Leathers and Jhaqula Tyson will compete for the opportunity to be named Youth of the Year for the Chattahoochee Valley.

Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. As Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier teen recognition program, the Youth of the Year title recognizes outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles. As the national program sponsor, Tupperware Brands awards each state winner a $1,000 college scholarship and each regional winner a $10,000 scholarship. The national winner receives an additional scholarship up to $50,000 from The Rick and Susan Goings Foundation.

The ceremonial event will also recognize three community leaders who will be inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame. The Inductees were selected based on an exceptional willingness to volunteer and contribute to the success of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley. The recipients will be recognized during the President’s Reception prior to the main awards program where sponsors are invited to the congratulatory occasion.
