Columbus Technical College announced today that it has been designated a 2015 Military Friendly School. Now in its sixth year, the Military Friendly Schools designation and list is a trusted resource for post-military success. Military Friendly provides service members transparent, data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities.

“Columbus Technical College has been working tirelessly at its military outreach efforts,” said President Lorette M. Hoover. “To be named a Military Friendly College – for the second year in a row- is quite a feat. It shows our commitment to active military, retirees, veterans, and their families. Having a strong relationship with the military and Fort Benning is paramount to the success of not only our college but our community as a whole.”

Approximately12 percent of the student body enrolled at Columbus Technical College are military veterans and/or dependents. Columbus Technical College now offers credit programs on post at Fort Benning. This semester, students were able to enroll in several important core classes like history, English, psychology, and algebra. To make the financial obligation easier on our military friends and family, the College offers several financial aid options that include: V/A and GI Bill benefits, Pell, HOPE, TA (Tuition Assistance) and more.

The Military Friendly Schools designation is awarded to the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and technical schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students, and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation. The methodology used for making the Military Friendly Schools list has changed the student veteran landscape to one much more transparent, and has played a significant role over the past six years in capturing and advancing best practices to support military students across the country.
