St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School Names 2016-2017 Lower School Assistant Principal

St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School announces the promotion of Ms. Paula “Angel” Cash to the position of 2016-2017 Lower School Assistant Principal, effective July 1, 2016. Ms. Cash started working at St. Anne-Pacelli in September 2015 and currently serves as the Lower School Gifted Director and Middle School Facilitator. In her new role, she will work alongside St. Anne-Pacelli Lower School Principal Mrs. Jocelyn Smith to coordinate, supervise and manage the Lower School (Preschool-8th grade). Current St. Anne-Pacelli Interim Lower School Assistant Principal Mrs. Kim Green will resume her duties as full-time Lower School Guidance Counselor in the 2016-2017 school year.

Ms. Cash graduated from Mississippi State University in 1982 and returned to her hometown, Columbus, Georgia, where she began her teaching career at Wynnton Elementary. As the first technology teacher in the Muscogee County School District, she worked with Kindergarten-2nd grade students in a program called IDEAL – Individual Enhancement of Adult Learning. She became known as the “IDEAL” teacher. Prior to joining the St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School family, Ms. Cash served as Director for Gifted Education and Principal for St. Elmo Center for the Gifted (K-5) since 2010.

Ms. Cash's education includes: master’s degree in Elementary Education; specialist degree in Elementary Education; certification in Leadership and Administration; and Gifted Endorsement. Before being appointed the Director for Gifted Education for MCSD, Ms. Cash was the district's Elementary Education Curriculum Specialist. In her 33 years working for MCSD she was the recipient of the 1997 Teacher of the Year for Wynnton Elementary School, 2003 Teacher of the Year for St. Elmo Center for the Gifted, Top Four Teacher of the Year for MCSD, 2006 Teacher of the Year for St. Elmo Center for the Gifted, and Top 10 Teacher of the Year for MCSD.
