The Georgia Department of Economic Development announced that Top Gun Powder Coating & Architectural Coating, a leading provider of world class architectural finishes, will expand to create a total of 70 new jobs in Adairsville and Jasper.

“We are excited that Top Gun Powder Coating & Architectural Coating has chosen to expand their presence in Georgia,” said GDEcD Commissioner Chris Carr. “As a key supplier to a variety of thriving industries in Georgia, we believe they will be perfectly situated at these locations to serve their growing customer base. We want to commend our economic development partners in Northwest Georgia for their collaboration, and we look forward to supporting Top Gun Powder Coating & Architectural Coating in the future.”

Top Gun Powder Coating & Architectural Coating was established in 2005 in Jasper and currently employs 35 full-time associates at four locations. The company provides architectural coatings such as Kynar, powder, industrial liquid and military and media blast cleaning services to support the following industries: defense, sports and recreation, commercial food and lodging, transportation, oil, gas and electric.

“We are very excited about our newest facility in Adairsville. This addition will provide us with a lot of new opportunities and challenges,” said Dean Porio, President, Top Gun Powder Coating & Architectural Coating. “We appreciate all the support that we have received from both the city of Adairsville and Bartow County. We are looking forward to being a successful and contributing business in the community.”

This project represents a two-pronged expansion. Top Gun will add ten employees to their existing location in Jasper and create an additional 60 new jobs with the opening of a new facility in Adairsville to meet increased enterprise demands. The company plans to move into an existing location at 200 Princeton Blvd., Adairsville, GA  30103. They expect to be fully operational by June 2016.

“The City of Adairsville is very pleased to have Top Gun Powder Coating locating in our community,” said Mayor Kenneth Carson of the City of Adairsville. “They are a welcome addition to our industrially diversified job market and we are very excited to have Mr. Porio, and the Top Gun team here.”

"We are delighted to be partnering with our friends in Pickens County in supporting the expansion of this great company,” said Bartow County Commissioner Steve Taylor. “We appreciate the efforts of the state and city of Adairsville in making this project happen and look forward to Top Gun's continuing growth and success."

“Top Gun has grown steadily in the City of Jasper and Pickens County under the leadership of owner Dean Porio,” said Community Economic Development Director for the Pickens Country Chamber of Commerce, Gerry Nechvatal. “We are also pleased that he has selected Bartow County, a member of our Joint Development Authority, as the location to establish a regional presence.”

GDEcD Regional Project Manager Stephanie Scearce represented the state on behalf of the Global Commerce division in partnership with the City of Adairsville, Cartersville-Bartow County Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power, the Georgia Department of Labor and the Pickens County Economic Development Authority.
