United Way Needs Your Help to Reach Goal

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Following the final campaign report meeting held at TSYS Wednesday morning, United Way announced the annual campaign is at 96% of the goal of $7,110,001.

“While this total reflects the generosity of the community, we are lagging a little behind where we should be,” said Scott Ferguson, President & CEO of the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. “To the thousands of people that have already given, we say thank you! To those that traditionally give and have not yet been able to make a donation, please do so today. It is never too late to give to help our community.”

Your donations stay right here in our community, helping people like Matthew, a Veteran with a three year-old son. Even though Matthew has a steady job, he was on the verge of becoming homeless. He wanted to make sure he provided an environment that was stable and reflected his values for his son, so he reached out for help. Because of donations to United Way, people like Matthew and his little boy were able to have a wonderful Christmas in their own home.

The 2016 campaign kicked off later than usual. For the last several months, volunteers and staff have been working hard to make sure the goal is reached. Thousands of people depend on United Way through funding of 57 programs in 29 agencies in the valley.
