Dr. Leland McCluskey to Present Program on Medical Mission Trip to Iraq May 4th

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Leland McCluskey will present a program on the care provided by a Disaster Assistance Response Team in Northern Iraq earlier this year. The public is invited to attend the seminar which is on Thursday, May 4, from 12-1 pm at St. Francis Hospital’s Sara Ruth Carroll Auditorium in the Butler Pavilion.
 
Dr. McCluskey will be joined by his son Leland McCluskey Jr., a 4th year Mercer Medical student who also went on the medical mission. They will address the humanitarian and medical challenges faced by the Iraqi people in the war-torn city of Mosul.

A founding member of St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute and a member of St. Francis Hospital’s Board of Trustees, Dr. McCluskey has volunteered for many years with World Medical Mission, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Each year since 2004, he has donated 2-4 weeks of his time to helping others in third world countries, working in Kenya, Honduras, Haiti, Nepal and Ecuador as well as Iraq.
