Melinda Tolbert, a Columbus-based Commercial Broker specializing in retail real estate, has been selected by the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation to receive the 2017 John T. Riordan School Professional Education Scholarship. She is the first and only agent in Columbus, Georgia to be awarded this illustrious award.

"My success is due in large part to my desire to be an asset to our team and clients at all times. Our
commercial team consists of the most knowledgeable, results driven brokers backed by the most innovative technology the commercial real estate industry has to offer. I’m ecstatic to be honored in Las
Vegas at the World’s largest retail real estate convention, and grateful for the opportunity to serve others in this industry. Receiving this award from the ICSC Foundation has been humbling and the opportunity that I have been so graciously afforded is absolutely priceless.”

“Retail real estate is directly related to the economic growth in any community, and as an industry expert, my quest for knowledge has no end. As a Riordan Scholar, I will be front and center with colleagues from the United States and beyond, sharing and developing actionable strategies that we can immediately implement within our respective markets. The knowledge that I will gain in management, marketing, leasing, development, design and construction will not only positively impact my journey to becoming a successful retail developer, but, it will also empower me to better serve my firm, my clients and ultimately, my community.”

Tolbert and other scholarship recipients will be honored at an award ceremony during RECon Las Vegas
on Monday, May 22, 2017 at noon.
