Aflac, the leader in voluntary insurance sales at the worksite in the United States, announced it has been selected as a 2017 Best Place to Work in Information Technology by IDG's Computerworld. The insurer is one of 100 top organizations that challenge their IT team while providing great benefits and compensation. Ranked No. 41 among large organizations, Aflac appeared on the coveted list for the 17th time.

"We are proud to have been chosen among the nation's best companies to work for in IT, which is further validated by our innovative initiatives, like the groundbreaking One Day Pay(SM) program, that enables Aflac to pay eligible claims in a single day," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "This recognition is a testament to the talented and business-savvy innovators who help make Aflac such a great place to work."

The Best Places to Work in IT list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT professionals, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings. Each year, 100 organizations are selected by the Computerworld editorial team to receive this award.

"The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list excel at creating a dynamic and satisfying IT work environment," said Ken Mingis, executive editor of Computerworld. "In a competitive market for tech talent, these outstanding employers are able to attract highly skilled IT pros by offering great benefits, new learning opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies and challenging, business-critical projects."

"Our Aflac culture fosters a collaborative environment that drives innovation and sets standards of excellence," Aflac Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Julia Davis said. "I am fortunate to lead such a cutting-edge IT team that's results-driven and exceeds expectations against all odds."
