Columbus Technical College would like to invite the entire Columbus community to its Manchester Expressway campus for its annual “Back 2 School BASH” from 6 – 8PM on Wednesday, August 2nd. This family-friendly event will be held in the Carl Patrick Hall building and courtyard. There be plenty of free food, fun, live music, games and school supplies for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Officials with the college will also be on hand to help with the application, advisement, and financial aid processes to get folks registered for fall semester.

Faculty members from several of Columbus Technical College’s 100+ program areas will have booths and information stations set up. These include programs like: nursing, dental hygiene, early childhood care and education, drafting technology, computer networking, respiratory care, criminal justice, cosmetology, welding, and many more. The division of Adult Education will also have personnel on hand to answer questions and provide material regarding their services.

Assistant director of recruitment and student activities, Ken Lockhart, is organizing the Back 2 School BASH. He calls the event a great one-stop-shop for any current or future student.

“Our newly-enrolled students will be able to leave their 5:00 orientation and immediately get exposed to the Columbus Technical College environment with free food, giveaways, and program demonstrations,” Lockhart said. “Potential students will see first-hand what to expect from dozens of academic areas of study and can apply and register on the spot. Kids who are still in elementary or middle school will have seeds planted about possible college opportunities and the whole family will have fun while getting all their school supply needs met. Everybody wins.”
