BGCCV Hosts 5th Annual Youth of the Year February 15th

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Monday, February 5th, 2018

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley is hosting its 5th Annual Youth of the Year and Hall of Fame Celebration, sponsored by TSYS, on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the National Infantry Museum at 6:30 pm. Demetria Floyd, Kaitlyn Leigh, Diamond Williams, and Amiya Wright will compete for the opportunity to be named the 2018 Youth of the Year of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley.

Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. As Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier teen recognition program, the Youth of the Year title recognizes outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles.

At the event, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley will honor a community leader whose contributions and successes had a significant impact on the development, evolution and growth of the organization, as well as the community. J. Madden Hatcher, Jr., “Of Counsel” member of Walrep, Mullin & Callahan Law Firm and 1966 Board President will be inducted into the BGCCV Hall of Fame during the 2018 Youth of the Year Celebration as the Service to Youth Inductee.

All proceeds raised from the event will go directly to support to the local Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley. BGCCV recognizes the importance of providing resources to at-risk youth in the Chattahoochee Valley. Through comprehensive programs, Club members’ skills are cultivated by supporting the mission: “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens”.
