You are invited to attend a Regional Business and Employer Summit scheduled for August 22, 2018 at the Columbus Technical College Carl Patrick Hall Student Center. The Business Services Unit of the Georgia Department of Labor in collaboration with the Georgia Employer Committees and Chambers of Commerce will be conducting half-day seminars throughout the state. The summits are designed to meet the needs of managers, human resources professionals, business owners, and supervisors seeking practical guidance and real world tips for handling the toughest management and compliance challenges and who want to operate effectively within the legal climate that is affecting the 2018 workplace.
 
In this year's half-day “Employers In the Know” crash course, attendees will:

Meet and hear from Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler as he shares valuable information on current GDOL initiatives and programs.

Receive information from a Labor Law attorney to plan your policies and actions during this complex legal and regulatory environment facing all businesses in 2018.

There will be a panel of experts’ discussion on hot topics such as harassment, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment insurance and more.

5.0 SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP professional development credits for the Society of Human Resource Management have been approved for this program.

$40 early bird registration – ends two weeks prior to the event date

$50 after the early bird registration date (both online and at the door)
 
All Summits will began at 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and lunch is provided. Networking at 8:30 a.m.

Recertification credits (5.0) through the Human Resources Certification Institute has been approved.
