CSU Student Newspaper Receives Prestigious Nomination

Columbus State University collegiate student newspaper, The Saber, was recently named one of 37 finalists nationwide for an Associated College Press Pacemaker Award, the association's preeminent award.

The Saber was selected as a finalist out of 165 student newspapers, ranking it among the top journalism programs in the country.

The award judges newspapers on the merit demonstrating excellence in specific areas which include coverage, writing, editing, design, and photography. Consideration was given to how stories were reported from the perspective of nationwide campus.

Of the 37 finalists, 11 will earn the Pacemaker award. Pacemakers winners will be announced at the ACP/CMA National College Media Convention on Oct 25-28, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky.
