Oktoberfest, Fort Benning's favorite fall tradition, returns to Uchee Creek Oct 19-21. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy traditional German music (including the Sonnenschein Express, Bavarian Yodelers, and the MCoE Band,) authentic German food and brews, games for all ages, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, carnival rides, the annual 10K Cross Country Challenge, and so much more.

This event is fun for the whole family, pet friendly and open to the public! Admission is $5 per person per day for guests 18 and older. Younger guests will not be charged admission but must be accompanied by an adult. Admission fees can be paid in cash or credit. Civilians are reminded they do not have to acquire a post access pass for this event if they use the Highway 165 entrance to Uchee Creek Campground and Marina.

This event includes the annual Oktoberfest 10K Cross Country Challenge Saturday, Oct. 20 (with a 5K Family Fun Run and a Volksmarch.) This challenging 10K course winds deeply into the wooded hills around Uchee Creek. This event is open to the public. Register by Oct 18 for $30 at Smith Fitness Center or online at Active.com. Registration on site on race day will be $40, starting at 7am. The race starts at 9am. You will find more information at benning.armymwr.com.

Saturday activities also include a stein-hoisting competition, with $500 prizes, a keg-tossing competition and a variety of canine contests, including the popular Dachshund Derby.

Shuttle service will be available to and from Oktoberfest on post Saturday. Pets are not permitted on the shuttle. Routes are available at benning.armymwr.com.

Oktoberfest vendors accept only tokens for the purchase of food. Wristbands (for admission) and tokens, $1 each, are available through Oct 18 at Building 228 on Kilgore Street, Outdoor Recreation on Gillespie, and at Uchee Creek, or you can purchase them at the event. Unused tokens can be redeemed for full value.

Join us Sunday at 11am at the Oktoberfest Fest Tent for a post-wide nondenominational worship service. Of course, there is no admission fee for this service, and guests can stay after to enjoy the last day of Oktoberfest.
