Maestro for a Moment Concert to Close YOGC's 25th Season April 29th

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Friday, April 12th, 2019

The Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus will close its 25th season with the Maestro for a Moment concert. Teams of community leaders volunteer their time and energy fundraising for YOGC, with the team raising the most money winning the honor of conducting the concert finale. The concert will be held Monday, April 29th 2019 in Legacy Hall of RiverCenter for the Performing Arts at 7:30 PM.

This performance is the Youth Orchestra’s most widely recognized event, generating thousands of dollars in gifts that directly support student musicians via scholarships, professional coaches, and other operating expenses. The three teams participating include:

Team Jenkins-King featuring Jacy Jenkins and Cora King, entrepreneurs and community advocates

Team Lewis featuring Muscogee County School District superintendent David Lewis alongside his wife Karen Lewis, retired educator and YOGC Past President

Team PMB featuring radio personalities Dave Arwood and Morgan Taylor

The community can vote for their desired Maestros for a Moment at yogc.org where $1.00 equals one vote. Voting is encouraged early and often, and votes can be made until the concert begins.

“Hopefully you’ve seen these fantastic Maestro candidates around town for the last few weeks raising awareness and funds for the youth orchestra. We are always floored by the generosity our wonderful Maestro candidates show through their work and our community shows through their support. The Maestro for a Moment fundraiser is our largest annual fundraiser, so please join me in making our 10th Maestro fundraiser in our 25th season just as special as each and every one our young musicians are.
