About Alex Ghoja

Ghoja is originally from Madison, Alabama. He attended and played soccer for the University of Montevallo, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. During his time playing for Montevallo, his team reached the National Final Four in the NCAA Tournament, as well as set the school record for highest NCAA rank for the men’s soccer team at No. 2 in program history.

After college, Ghoja coached for Hoover Soccer Club where he assisted with the program’s U-15 Region 3 Premier League Boys’ Team. He then went on to serve as the Head Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach at Central High School. For the past four years, Ghoja has coached CFC Red Star and currently coaches the club’s 06 Elite Boys’ Team.

“We are excited about Alex joining our Viking family,” said St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School Athletic Director Corry Black. “I am confident that he will keep the momentum going in our boys’ soccer program. Alex is one of the top up-and-coming coaches in our region. We are grateful to be able to land a coach of his caliber.”

“The Vikings Soccer program has built a strong reputation for success in the Columbus area and I look forward to contributing to the advancement of the program,” Ghoja said. “I am very excited to be a part of the Viking family and am excited to meet the students, parents and faculty members, as well as have the opportunity to work with a talented group of young men.”

This year, the Varsity Boys’ Vikings Soccer Team advanced to the Elite 8 in the 2019 GHSA Boys State Soccer - Class A Private Boys Tournament.

Ghoja and his wife, Kimberly, have been married for two years and have a 1-year-old son, Axel.
