CSU has been selected as one of fifty nursing schools chosen by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation (APGF) to obtain funding for hosting the White Coat Ceremonies for the 2019-2020 school year. The White Coat Ceremony is in recognition of the newest nursing student enrollees.

“The School of Nursing undergraduate faculty and staff are really excited about being selected for the White Coat Ceremony this year,” states the Director of the School of Nursing, Dr. Janet Alexander. “The white lab coat represents a transition from only didactic learning to the application of knowledge and skills in the clinical setting.”

The Gold Foundation and AACN have worked to give support and technical assistance to 360 nursing schools within 49 states as part of ceremonies provided to light a committed, caring, and patient-focused fire in these new nursing enrollees.
