Publix and United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley teamed up on Friday to donate additional school supplies to kids in need in the community. Publix is a United Way Stuff The Bus sponsor, supporting the effort with their Tools For Schools campaign. “Publix makes a difference in the lives of so many children through their Tools For Schools campaign,” said Ben Moser, President and CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. “Change Doesn’t Happen Alone, and through the collaborative efforts of United Way, our Community Partners, Publix and local schools, children receive the tools that they need to be successful in school,” he added.

The value of the items totaled approximately $43,000. Local Publix stores participated in the campaign, and all school supplies from the stores were distributed to local agencies Friday morning at the Publix on Bradley Park Drive. School supplies were distributed to sixteen United Way Community Partner Agencies that work with youth, The Literacy Alliance, Muscogee County Juvenile Court and Russell County Juvenile Court. Also, all school districts in counties in United Way’s service area received supplies, which include Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Phenix City, Russell, Stewart, Talbot and Taylor Counties.
