The South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships celebrate and support the highest quality artistic work being created in the American South. The exhibition currently on view at the Bo Bartlett Center includes 9 different artists residing in 9 various southern states who were selected from a pool of more than 800 applicants by a national panel of jurors to receive their respective state fellowships. The exhibition features works of:

The artistry on display is a testament to the strength of art in the South.  From large-scale instillation exploring the intersection of humans and nature to pointed meditations on domesticity in the age of social media, the 2019 State Fellows present diverse themes, visions, and styles.  And, from their homes in remote Cleveland, Mississippi, to the busy shores of Delray Beach, Florida, they each contribute to the tapestry of artists living and working in the South.

This exhibition is on display in the Hecht and Yarbrough Galleries through September 13.
