The Columbus Technical College Adult Education Division is excited to announce the grand opening of its newest site in South Columbus.  At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, a ceremonial ribbon will be cut to celebrate the official grand opening of the Asbury Methodist Church Adult Education location at 2312 Ellen Avenue.  Columbus Tech is partnering with the church and the Chattahoochee Valley Poverty Reduction Coalition to provide learning opportunities to the deserving residents living in the neighborhoods surrounding the church.  The church is even offering free transportation services for current and future students.

“We have wanted a location in the South Columbus area to fulfill the needs of our students for some time now,” said Columbus Technical College Vice President of Adult Education April Hopson.  “We are excited to provide access to educational and economic prosperity to this community. With the addition of the Asbury site, we now have 16 locations in our six-county service area, in addition to two at Fort Benning.”

The Chattahoochee Valley Poverty Reduction Coalition focuses on moving families out of poverty and into economic self-sufficiency.  It is the perfect companion to Columbus Tech’s mission of providing educational and workforce development opportunities for everyone in the region.
