Columbus State University to Recognize 742 Graduates

Columbus State University will honor 742 graduates at its fall 2019 commencement ceremonies.

Graduates will be recognized according to their college with ceremonies being held at the following times:

Friday, December 13, 2019 at 3 p.m. - College of Education and Health Professions

Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10 a.m. - College of Arts & College of Business

Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. - College of Letters and Sciences

There will also be a Graduate Hooding ceremony- on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at 6:30 pm.

The commencement ceremonies will be in the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center and live streamed at https://graduation.columbusstate.edu/

At the College of Arts and Turner College of Business ceremony on Saturday morning, an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters will be presented to Shannon Candler. A respected artist, Candler has done post-graduate training with leading artists throughout the world and her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries. She was a founding chair of the Bo Bartlett Center Board of Advisors in 2012 and currently serves as chair emeritus and as a member of the Center’s National Board of Visitors. 

Below are a few notes for those planning to attend graduation:

To improve the safety and security of our graduates and their families, CSU Police will be conducting bag checks. Graduates, families, and faculty are encouraged to arrive early and not to bring large bags.

Balloons, noise makers, signs, and confetti are prohibited from the Lumpkin Center.

There will be loud noises at the conclusion of each ceremony. These are planned, please do not be alarmed.
