Monday, April 20th, 2020

St. Francis-Emory Healthcare is pleased to announce that the Coronavirus Response Fund is awarding $500,000 to St. Francis to continue care to critically ill COVID-19 patients and efforts to support our team’s needs. The Community Foundation’s President Betsy Covington and the United Way President Ben Moser jointly announced the award today. This increase in crisis service available to the community is made possible by a grant from the Coronavirus Response Fund, a joint effort of the Community Foundation and United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. The work is supported by a gift to the Fund from an anonymous donor.

The Fund has committed $500,000 to St. Francis to enable the organization to increase the COVID-19 crisis service available to the community. To learn more about The Coronavirus Response Fund and the Community Foundation, visit https://www.cfcv.com/coronavirus.

“We’re honored that the Coronavirus Response Fund can support St. Francis’s quick efforts to increase our area’s critical care capacity for COVID-19 patients,” commented Betsy Covington, president and CEO, Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley. “The Community Foundation’s close partnership with United Way is helping donors across our community respond rapidly to organizations that are supporting our most vulnerable people. In this case, an anonymous donor wanted to maximize intensive care with a special gift, and we agreed this was a great way to help.”

“We are pleased and grateful for the support of the Community Foundation and United Way, says St. Francis CEO, Melody Trimble. “This direct investment in critical supplies will significantly extend our capacity to care for more critically patients. We are inspired by the teamwork we see at every level in Columbus and throughout the Chattahoochee Valley, and know that we will get through this together, working side by side to provide care to our community during this critical time.”
