On Monday, Apr. 20, 2020, road construction crews will start a project to resurface 12th Avenue from Talbotton Road to 29th Street in Columbus. The teams will mill up the old roadway and replace it with new layers of rock and asphalt. The work is expected to be complete within two weeks.

A full roadway closure will be installed effective at both intersections and only residents of the affected portion of 12th Avenue will be allowed access. A detour will direct through-traffic around the project, utilizing Talbotton Road/Warm Springs Road and 29th Street. Signage will be placed throughout the area alerting drivers to the closures and the detour route.
