CSU Gets Creative to Display Senior Art Exhibit During COVID-19

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Thursday, May 14th, 2020

Columbus State University’s Department of Art will display their graduating senior’s exhibition in a unique way this year to stay within social distancing guidelines. The exhibit, titled Six Feet Apart, will be showcased throughout the summer on Columbus’s Riverwalk.

In cooperation with CSU’s Department of Art, the Dragonfly Trails, and with community support from the W. C. Bradley Company and D&S Sign Company, The Do Good Fund public art project presents an art display showcasing ideas by CSU’s graduating BFA candidates.

While typically held in the Illges Gallery, the exhibition will be held along the Riverwalk between the 14th Street Bridge and the Powerhouse, in accordance with social distancing guidelines. An online exhibition will be launched on May 14th as well.

Founded in 2012, The Do Good Fund is a Columbus based public charity whose “mission is to make its collection of nearly 600 images broadly accessible through regional museums, nonprofit galleries, and nontraditional venues and to encourage complementary, community-based programming to accompany each exhibition.”

Remember to practice social distancing while viewing the project while supporting the hard work of the Department of Art’s BFA candidates.
