Leadership GBA Board of Directors Elects and Installs Officers and Directors

Members of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) have elected and installed officers and eight new members to the Leadership GBA Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Danny Minick, executive vice president at The Citizens Bank of Americus, was installed as chair. Members elected Jenny Wofford, vice president, branch administration at Pinnacle Bank in Elberton chair-elect. Candice Nanney, senior vice president and Chief Risk Officer at The Piedmont Bank in Peachtree Corners was elected vice chair.

"This is an all-star group of bankers set to serve the industry during this critical time. They’re creative, engaged and enthusiastic about the role Leadership GBA plays in the development of strong career bankers across Georgia," said GBA Chairman Spence Mullis, president and CEO, Morris Bank, Dublin.

Leadership GBA supports the advancement of career bankers by providing leadership development training, serving as a forum through which career bankers can network and exchange ideas and promoting industry advocacy activities at the local, state and federal level.

In addition, seven new board members representing the association’s geographic divisions have been elected by their peers or appointed to At Large positions, and one new board member has been elected to represent GBA Associate Members. They are:

  • Group 1: Michael Thigpen, Chief Credit Officer, The Bank of Soperton

  • Group 3: Jason Braden, senior vice president and loan officer, Great Oaks Bank, Eastman

  • Group 5: Cory Burdette, senior vice president, Atlantic Capital Bank, Atlanta

  • Group 7: Matt Robbins, senior vice president and senior lending officer, Greater Community Bank, Rome

  • Group 9: Bill Hogan, senior credit officer and division manager, Northeast Georgia Bank, Lavonia

  • At-Large: Kevin Massey, market president, Georgia Community Bank, Dawson

  • At-Large: Eli Tinsley, president and Chief Banking Officer, Planters First Bank, Cordele

  • Associate Member Representative: Mark Faas, Chief Executive Officer, Point to Point Environmental, McDonough
