GDOT Awards Three Contracts for Sign Upgrades, Bridge Projects in West Central Georgia

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced it awarded contracts for three projects in District 3 (West Central Georgia region). The project bids were received on June 19, 2020 and the contracts awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on July 6, 2020.

The projects are:

  • Bibb, Coweta, Dooly, Henry, Monroe and Muscogee Counties: the project involves signing upgrades at various locations within those counties. The contract was awarded to Massana, Inc. of Tyrone, Georgia for $1.25 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of spring, 2021.

  • Harris County: the project involves the construction of 1.401 miles of a bridge and approaches on Fortune Hole Road (CR 215)  over Williams Creek. The contract was awarded to Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. of Marietta, Georgia for $1.2 million. The project is expected to be completed by mid-summer, 2021. 

  • Troup County: the project involves the rehabilitation of bridges at 17 locations on state routes within the county. The contract was awarded to Louis-Company LLC of Lees Summit, Missouri for $1.7 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer, 2021.

The contracts were three of 16 awarded statewide on July 6. The June awards bring the state of Georgia's total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2020 to $1.349 billion. Fiscal Year 2020 consisted of the twelve months from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
