Columbus State University recently ranked No. 31 in the U.S. News & World Report’s list of top public regional universities in the South. This marks the second year in a row that CSU made it into the top 35 list.

CSU was also recognized as No. 73 among Best Regional Universities, and — for the first year ever — was recognized among the top 50 regional universities in the South for social mobility.

The social mobility ranking measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants. Pell Grant recipients typically come from households with family incomes less than $50,000 annually. U.S. News ranked CSU as No. 47.

“We are proud to maintain our strong placement in the U.S. News & World Report rankings,” said CSU President Chris Markwood. “We are also proud to be recognized as a top performer in social mobility. We have witnessed countless examples of how a college education enables students to improve themselves, their families, their communities, and their world. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to ensuring all students have the resources they need to continue their education and graduate with a college degree.”
