COVID-19 Update from St. Francis-Emory Healthcare

Staff Report

Friday, October 16th, 2020

St. Francis-Emory Healthcare has established a regular update by Dr. Brandon Dawson, Medical Director of Emergency Services, to share information with the public related to COVID-19 including the status of hospital operations and the safety measures being taken to protect our patients, staff and community. These updates are delivered every two weeks by Dr. Dawson and are available on the hospital’s social media channel and website.

As of October 15, 2020:

As reported by the Department of Public Health, cases of COVID-19 increased in Muscogee County through July, but decreased in August, September and into October. Currently, St. Francis is treating less than 20 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in our hospital.

St. Francis continues to take all the necessary precautions to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19, including limiting entry points to the facility, screening all individuals for symptoms of COVID-19, universal masking, maintaining a restricted visitation protocol and cleaning and sanitizing all patient rooms and patient areas.

St. Francis reminds the public to do their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing and proper hand hygiene, and wearing a mask or face covering while in public.
