American Banker has named Katherine Weislogel, head of treasury and payment solutions (T&PS), and Liz Wolverton, chief strategy and customer experience officer, Women to Watch as part of the publication's Most Powerful Women in Banking recognition. The annual ranking recognizes women for their impact on their company, industry, and community at large, as well as their leadership and innovation-development capabilities.

“The banking industry has made significant progress developing, empowering, and recognizing women leaders in recent years, and Synovus has two of the best in Katherine and Liz,” said Kevin Blair, president and CEO of Synovus. “We’re grateful for this recognition from American Banker and proud of the leadership Katherine and Liz provide at our company.”

Weislogel’s responsibilities include oversight of the bank’s treasury management and liquidity solutions; management of international and commercial card sales; implementation of products and services; and pricing, billing, and risk management of all T&PS products and services. She also leads the design and go-to-market strategy for all new T&PS products and solutions, including development of sales strategy initiatives and client engagement process design, starting with a consultative sales approach. Weislogel joined Synovus in March 2019 as executive director of T&PS and was named executive vice president and head of this key business line in 2021.

Wolverton guides Synovus’ strategic direction through cross-enterprise coordination of lines of business and also leads marketing, digital, and customer experience for Synovus, building out an aligned and measured approach to delivering a holistic, consistent, and differentiated customer experience. Wolverton joined Synovus in 2003 as director of accounting and financial analysis, and she was named chief strategy officer in 2014. In 2018, she was named executive vice president and her duties were expanded to encompass customer experience oversight, including digital and online applications.
