Georgia DOT Awards Three Contracts for New Resurfacing Projects in West Central Georgia

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced it awarded three contracts for new resurfacing projects in District 3 (West Central Georgia region). The projects were presented for bid on Oct. 22, 2021 and awards made on Nov. 5, 2021.
The projects are:

Coweta County: the project involves 11.641 miles of resurfacing on Georgia 34 beginning north of Clark Street and extending to the Fayette County line. The contract was awarded to E. R. Snell Contractor, Inc. of Snellville for $7.8 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2022.

Jones County: the project involves 14.209 miles of resurfacing and shoulder rehabilitation on Georgia 49 beginning west of Joycliff Road and extending to the Baldwin County line. The contract was awarded to Reeves Construction Company of Macon for $5 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2022.

Pulaski County: the project involves 1.29 miles of resurfacing on US 129/Georgia 11 BUS beginning north of Broad Street and extending to Georgia 11. The contract was awarded to The Scruggs Company of Hahira for $647,000. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2022.
These three projects were among 16 statewide to be contracted on Nov. 5, worth $114,650,000 million in total. These awards bring the total dollar amount for construction contracts in Fiscal Year 2022 so far to approximately $432 million. This total includes TIA, Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build and locally administered projects. Fiscal Year 2022 began as of July 1, 2021.
