On Friday, June 2, Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) welcomed twenty-six (26) high school students from Wallace Community College’s Upward Bound program to campus.

TRiO Upward Bound (UB) at Wallace Community College is a federally funded grant program through the U.S. Department of Education in; which the mission is to increase the rate at which high school students complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from higher education institutions. Tutoring, counseling, mentoring, and cultural enrichment are critical components of the Upward Bound Program. Upward Bound offers services to students through monthly sessions during the school year and a six-week summer program at Wallace Community College Sparks Campus.

Upward Bound students, up-and-coming sophomores, juniors, and seniors, were given a tour of the CVCC campus during their visit. This tour allowed them to familiarize themselves with the various academic program areas such as Health Sciences, Applied Technology, and Public Safety, as well as student support services, library services, and extracurricular opportunities available. The students were also given the chance to interact with CVCC faculty members, who shared valuable insights into the college experience and offered guidance for academic success.

CVCC is proud to partner with fellow community colleges and remains committed to providing accessible education and supporting the academic growth of all students. The College looks forward to future collaborations and continuing its mission of empowering students to achieve their full potential.
