What: Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) is excited to announce Sophomore Day for the 2023-24 baseball and softball seasons, where the CVCC Pirates will face off against the Northwest Shoals Community College Patriots, and the Lady Pirates will be taking on the Central Alabama Community College Trojans. The departing sophomore players will be recognized and honored for their hard work, dedication, and significant contributions to the Pirates baseball and softball teams.

When: Saturday, April 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for the baseball double header. The baseball sophomores will be recognized between the first and second games. The softball games will be at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The softball sophomores will be recognized at 1:30 p.m. EST before the start of the game.

Where: Chattahoochee Valley Community College, 2602 College Drive, Phenix City, Alabama.

Baseball will play on Howard Lake Field (home), and softball will be playing their first game on their new home field!

Details: As the season draws to a close, CVCC is proud to honor its sophomore players in a special ceremony on each field. These athletes have been pivotal to the team's success and have shown immense dedication and spirit both on and off the fields. The College invites the community, students, staff, and fans of the game to join in celebrating these young athletes as they prepare to embark on their next journey.

The games and ceremonies promise to be a fitting tribute to the sophomores and an exciting conclusion to memorable seasons. To top it off, the Lady Pirates will be playing a game on their new softball field for the very first time! We encourage all supporters, families, and community members to come out and show their support for the teams and the sophomores who have given their all for the Pirates.
