The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation (MEEF) announced 54 Muscogee County School District (MCSD) Teacher of the Year (TOTY) Honorees on January 16, 2025, at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.

The MEEF Board of Directors recognized these exceptional teachers for their steadfast commitment to classroom excellence. “These outstanding educators exemplify the heart of our mission, which is to recognize and reward exceptional teachers,” said MEEF Chair Wes Kelley. “Each Honoree brings innovation, passion, and dedication to the classroom, creating transformative learning experiences that benefit not only our students, but our entire community.”

Throughout the year, these outstanding teachers—selected by their individual schools—will be acknowledged in several ways, beginning with today’s public announcement and a breakfast event featuring the National and State Teachers of the Year. Their recognition culminates with the Teacher of the Year Gala on Thursday, May 1, at the Trade Center.

At the Gala, business and community champions of education will gather to honor some of MCSD’s most talented and exceptional teachers. The 2025 MCSD Teacher of the Year will also be revealed before an audience of over 1,100 public education supporters. Tickets to the Gala go on sale March 24 at the RiverCenter Box Office for $55 each.

MEEF is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering educational excellence by focusing on individual teachers who are innovative and exceptionally effective in their profession. The Foundation has awarded over $3.3 million to innovative teachers through financial incentives in the TOTY program, the MEEF Grant program, MEEF Endowment Fund, and the Harvard Fellows Program.
