Chattahoochee Valley area residents now have a new choice for their television and high speed Internet services. AT&T is launching U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice in the area, including Columbus, Auburn and Opelika.
“Availability of U-verse TV in Columbus is another example of efforts impacting economic and community development. Access to such high tech information and entertainment technology is key to a vibrant Columbus community,” said Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.
The new services are part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP (VIP), which significantly expands and enhances AT&T’s IP and mobile data networks. AT&T U-verse will continue rolling out to additional local cities and neighborhoods in upcoming months. Through Project VIP, AT&T expects the wireline IP network to reach approximately 57 million customer locations by the end of 2015.
“The expansion of AT&T U-verse supports economic growth and increases consumer choice in the Columbus area,” said Terry Smith, AT&T Regional Director of External Affairs for Midwest Georgia. “Local residents have asked for more TV service choices and today we’re delivering.”
Ty Fondren, AT&T Director of External Affairs for Alabama, said, “The great thing about U-verse is that it makes TV, Internet and voice services work together in harmony. We’re honored to bring our innovative services to Chattahoochee Valley area customers.”
AT&T U-verse TV is 100 percent digital and uses AT&T’s advanced network. This means Chattahoochee Valley area customers will have the freedom to watch hit TV shows from almost anywhere – at home or on the go. AT&T U-verse was named the 2014 Video Company of the Year by Frost & Sullivan. The award is based on excellence in customer value, innovation and growth.
U-verse also recently received three Women’s Choice Awards as “America’s Most Recommended Brand among women for Broadband, Television and Phone Service Provider.”
“We’re proud to invest our resources in this portion of midwest Georgia and Alabama,” said Beth Shiroishi, AT&T Georgia President and Fred McCallum, AT&T Alabama President. “With the launch of U-verse here in the Chattahoochee Valley area, our customers across both states will have more ways than ever to connect.”
