Named one of the Top Man-Made Adventures on the Planet by USA Today, Columbus GA Whitewater's 2015 season officially begins May 8th with multiple activities for a unique thrill-seeking adventure. Rafting, zip lining, kayaking, fly fishing and paddle boarding, Columbus GA Whitewater fills travel schedules with the newest outdoor adventures on the East Coast.
New this year, Columbus Ga Whitewater introduces the Blue Heron Zip Line and Aerial Course. Crossing over the Chattahoochee River, the Blue Heron Zip Line is the only dual-zip line that connects two states, reaching speeds up to 40 mph. The Blue Heron Aerial Course, a treetop experience meets zippers in Phenix City, Alabama with a total of 10 obstacles. The adventure continues with a motorized Canyon Raft back to Georgia.
The Columbus GA Whitewater course boasts Class I-V rapids. Named The Longest Urban Whitewater Course in the World, Columbus GA Whitewater is a 2.5-mile whitewater course on the Chattahoochee River running through the city of Columbus, GA. The course offers "mild to wild" experiences, during the day 800-1,500 cfs are released to offer a family-class whitewater experience. During the high-water experience, 13,000 cfs is pumped out to juice our rapid called "Cutbait." Cutbait provides thrill seekers with an adrenaline rush compared to that of a Grand Canyon size Class V rapid, that has been known to dump rafters into the river where they float into a calm pool.
Kayakers flock to Columbus Ga Whitewater to get a taste of the newest paddling hotspot on the East Coast. Paddlers surf the largest rapids on this side of the Colorado River. Playboaters hit big water with flows up to 13,000cfs, and river runners paddle over eight rapids on the 2.5 mile whitewater course.
Columbus GA Whitewater offers a standing wave that attracts river surfers from all over the country. River surfers from as far as Huntington Beach, California come to surf the wave for its warm, safe and adrenaline pumping white water experience.
Stand Up Paddleboarders test their inner core strength, paddling into a class IV rapid challenging their ability to balance while standing up on their paddle board. If that isn't challenging enough, connect your mind and body with the water through Paddle Board Yoga.
Unique to other rafting locations, Columbus GA Whitewater is located in historic Uptown Columbus. Uptown Columbus offers more than 10 locally-owned and operated restaurants, multiple unique boutiques, live music and more. Plan a summer trip to Columbus GA Whitewater, where outdoor adventure meets city style.
