Spherion Staffing Services, a local recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions provider, recently announced the opening of a new office in Columbus at 1002 Broadway. Franchise owner Michael Chalmers will manage and operate this location, along with his growing team.
“For more than six years, we’ve connected local companies and talented candidates to fill jobs and help fuel the economy in Macon,” said Chalmers. “I’m excited to continue that trajectory and expand our offerings with the opening of our new office in Columbus. We’re looking forward to meeting and partnering with community organizations and businesses to put local people to work.”
Randstad, the parent company of Spherion, previously operated the Columbus office until the late-May transition to Chalmers as an independent, franchisee-owned business. Chalmers and his team will help local businesses find the right manufacturing, call center and professional candidates to meet their workforce needs. He will also continue to own and operate Spherion’s Middle Georgia (Macon) and Huntsville, Ala. offices, as well as another new office in LaGrange, Ga.
Chalmers brings 10 years of staffing industry leadership experience, including six as a franchise owner, to the Columbus business community. Also a former Spherion employee, Chalmers assumed his ownership role in 2010 and has since expanded his team to include 18 dedicated staffing and recruiting experts.
Earlier this year, he was awarded Spherion’s annual Sales Excellence and Best of Blue awards for outstanding revenue performance in 2015. Last year, Chalmers and his expert staffing team expanded combined revenue by nearly 55 percent within Spherion’s Middle Georgia and Huntsville offices, and he is committed to bringing the same vigor and passion for growth to his newest locations.
