Third Annual J.W. Fanning Community Leadership Conference Set for February 2018
Wednesday, September 13th, 2017
Individuals committed to improving their communities and organizations through leadership development are encouraged to mark their calendars to attend the 2018 Community Leadership Conference, Feb. 22-23, 2018, at UGA.
Organized by the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, the Community Leadership Conference will again take place at the UGA Center for Continuing Education and Hotel.
This year’s theme is “Inspired to Lead.”
Through the conference, the Fanning Institute engages community members dedicated to strengthening communities through leadership development, said Matt Bishop, director of the Fanning Institute.
“Creating a culture of strong, action-oriented leadership inspires positive change in communities,” said Bishop. “This conference brings those individuals at the forefront of developing that culture in their communities together to share best practices and learn about recent trends and innovations that they can take back to their communities and organizations to re-energize their leadership programs.”
Again in 2018, the conference will include development opportunities for those focused on adult, youth and nonprofit leadership.
Workshops and presentations this year will follow four distinct conference tracks.
Those tracks are:
-
Best Practices in Leadership Development Programming
-
Innovations in Leadership Programs
-
Leadership in Nonprofit Organizations
-
Inspired to Lead – Conference Theme Track
“Defining four conference tracks provides attendees with a specific interest the ability to focus in on that area, but allows others an opportunity to explore a wide range of topics related to leadership development,” said Bishop.
The Fanning Institute is currently accepting both registrations to attend the 2018 Community Leadership Conference and Request for Proposals to present at the conference.
