    Columbus State University’s Center for Global Engagement now has a new office and a new executive director. Dr. Eric Spears, a Fulbright scholar and geography professor with 20 years of experience in international education, will lead the program at its new home in the Schuster Center for Student Success.

According to Site Selection, Georgia is the first state to hold this ranking for five consecutive years under the same governor.

    The proposed affiliation agreement between Columbus Regional Health and Piedmont Healthcare that was announced in May moved another step closer to official approval. Columbus Regional Health and Piedmont Healthcare have reached an agreement that memorializes the letter of intent approved earlier this year. The next step will be a filing with the Attorney General, which is planned for November.

The magazine has conducted its survey of site professionals for eight years, and this marks the eighth consecutive time Quick Start was voted the best workforce training program in the country.
