Colony Bank today announced that it has acquired three Allstate agencies that have merged into Colony Insurance, the Bank’s consumer insurance subsidiary. Colony also announced the addition of Scott Martin as an insurance agent in the Eastman banking center. 

Colony acquired the Allstate agencies from Tony DuShane, Jody Reese, and M.C. Phillips. The three agencies are in the Columbus area and will operate out of one location at 2528 Weems Road, Unit 2D, Columbus, GA 31909. Tony DuShane will be the agency manager and will report to Jason Barnes, President of Colony Insurance, who works out of Colony Insurance headquarters in Macon, GA.

Jason Barnes, President of Colony Insurance, stated, “The acquisition of these three agencies greatly expands our ability to provide our Columbus-area customers with a wide range of solutions, including banking, mortgage, lending, and consumer insurance. Our trusted and talented professionals can meet a wide range of financial needs in a way that is convenient and seamless for our customers. We look forward to integrating these agencies with our existing Colony teammates to provide the best service possible for our Columbus-area customers.”

Tony DuShane has been in management for 42 years and a licensed insurance agent for 34 years, 23 of those years as an Allstate agency owner. The Columbus insurance team also includes Carol DuShane and Anna Jordan. Together, they bring close to 70 years of insurance experience.

Colony is also growing its consumer insurance capabilities in the Eastman banking center through the addition of Scott Martin as insurance agent. Scott and his family moved to Georgia from Charlotte, North Carolina almost two years ago to build a house on their family farm. While living in Charlotte, Scott worked for Vanguard and the Newport Group managing 401-K plans. His wife, Karen, also works for Colony Bank and their only child is in her sophomore year at Georgia Southern University. Scott enjoys spending time with family and looking for arrowheads on the farm.
