Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside is excited to announce the renovation and expansion of its emergency department. The expansion has allowed the ED to double its capacity from 10 beds to 20 and continue meeting the growing needs of the residents in North Columbus, Harris County, and the surrounding area.

The 12,000 square foot Emergency Department opened in April 2018 with ten beds and quickly began to exceed its original daily visits expectations. The expansion included building out an existing 4,600 square foot shell space and features seven additional standard exam rooms, two additional resuscitation rooms, and one additional behavioral health room.

“We selected Valentine’s Day for our opening to represent the compassionate and loving care we provide patients,” said Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Chief Operating Officer Laura Drew.

Designed to meet the community’s healthcare needs, the Northside Emergency Department offers full-service emergency care, advanced imaging for diagnostics and testing including CT, MRI, X-ray and ultrasound, on-site laboratory testing, and convenient ADA accessible parking.

It’s important to note that patients should visit our Emergency Trauma Center located at the Midtown Campus for major medical emergencies involving labor and delivery, cardiac arrest, stroke symptoms, and the Pediatric Emergency Department also located at the Midtown Campus for emergencies involving minors.
