BETTER WORK Columbus Announces New Board Chair, Board Members

BETTER WORK Columbus, a program of the Georgia Center for Opportunity, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian McClusky as Steering Committee Chair for 2022-2023. Mr. McClusky is the Chief Executive Officer of Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers, LLC (HPRC) in Columbus, GA and brings a passion for expanding diversity and inclusion in the healthcare industry.

We are also excited to announce the election of two additional new members to the BETTER WORK Columbus Steering Committee. New board members include Dr. Ronald Williams, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President at Columbus State University, and Conner Miller, Manager of Workforce Development for the Greater Columbus GA Chamber of Commerce.

“We are eager to expand our board to include three members who bring diverse expertise and insight to our work,” said Kristin Barker, Program Manager for BETTER WORK Columbus. “Each of our members share a passion for diversifying the workforce and improving opportunities for the underserved in our community."

The BETTER WORK Columbus Steering Committee is composed of a cross-sector of community partners representative of the relevant community ecosystem that provide strategic direction and champion BETTER WORK in Columbus, GA. The Steering Committee is responsible for overseeing the mission and purpose of the effort. Its duties include participation in strategic planning, establishing priorities, raising program awareness, and shaping the long-term impact in our community. It is the Board’s responsibility to oversee the mission and purpose of this effort as they provide counsel and guidance for the direction and operation of BETTER WORK Columbus.
