Siyanna, age 4, and Torie, age 3, were selected to serve as the 2022 Champions representing The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional. Siyanna’s mother was told she would never be able to have children and then a miracle happened. Although she was finally able to get pregnant, her mother had a serious condition that caused preterm labor and Siyanna was born at only 25 weeks weighing 1lb. and 14oz. Thanks to the wonderful care she received in the Miracle NICU at The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional, she was able to go home after 90 days.
Much to their delightful surprise, they received a second miracle named Tori. She was also born early, at 23 weeks weighing only 1lb. and 3 oz. Tori went through several obstacles like seizures, multiple blood transfusions, and diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. She was a fighter, just like her big sister. After spending 132 days in our Miracle NICU, she was able to go home and finally meet Siyanna.
Both girls are happy and thriving today. Their parents are so grateful for the Miracle NICU at The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional and being able to stay close to home.
