The Greater Columbus Home Builders Association (GCHBA) is proud to celebrate 75 years in 2022.

The Home Builders Association of Columbus was chartered in 1947 to become the second Home Builders Association in the state of Georgia, with Atlanta being the first.   In 2002, the Home Builders Association of Columbus changed its name to Greater Columbus Home Builders Association to serve a 6-county area, to include Muscogee, Harris, Marion, Chattahoochee, Talbot and Taylor Counties as a non-profit trade association. The GCHBA is affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The goal of the association was, as still is, to provide service and representation to and for members – building contractors and associated professionals – in support of the building industry in the local area and at large. Membership currently stands at over 150 companies.

The association holds numerous events throughout the year, including education opportunities, a golf outing, social activities, member mixers, annual Legislative Fish Fry, and a Reverse Raffle Fundraiser. The HBA takes pride in giving back to the community with our Workforce Development initiatives for local students and those wishing to enter the home building trade industry.  

GCHBA will celebrate its 75^th Anniversary with members and guests on August 18th, 2022 at the Green Island Country Club beginning at 6pm.  The event will include the annual Reverse Raffle where the grand prize winner walks away with $10,000, a Silent Auction, as well as recognition of all Past Presidents of the association in attendance. Special Guests will include leadership from the Home Builders Association of Georgia, current State President and GCHBA member, Bradley Jones, as well as National Association of Home Builders Chairman, Jerry Konter.
