Columbus Technical College proudly celebrated the achievements of its Division of Health Sciences graduates at a special Pinning Ceremony, followed by a college-wide Graduation Ceremony, on June 13, 2024, at the Columbus Civic Center. These events marked significant milestones for students who have completed rigorous programs in health sciences and other academic disciplines. 

Division of Health Sciences Pinning Ceremony:

The Pinning Ceremony, a time-honored tradition in the healthcare field, honored graduates from Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Radiologic Technology programs. The event was a symbolic welcome into the healthcare profession, where graduates received their pins from faculty members and recited the professional oath. 

Highlights of the Pinning Ceremony:

• Inspirational Address: Barbara Gaither, former CTC Health Sciences and Nursing Dean/Instructor, delivered an inspirational speech emphasizing the critical role healthcare professionals play in the community and the importance of compassion in patient care.

• Student Recognition: Graduates were individually recognized for their hard work and dedication. Special awards were given to students who demonstrated exceptional academic performance and clinical excellence.

College-Wide Graduation Ceremony:

The Graduation Ceremony, held after the Pinning Ceremony, celebrated the accomplishments of graduates from all programs offered by Columbus Technical College. Families, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the hard work and perseverance of the Class of 2024.

Makayla Faught, Columbus Tech’s 2024 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership Winner, delivered an inspiring keynote address, encouraging graduates to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in their communities.

Martha Ann Todd, President of Columbus Technical College, congratulated the graduates, saying, “Today, we celebrate your achievements and the beginning of your professional journeys. Your dedication and hard work have brought you to this moment, and we are incredibly proud of each one of you. As you move forward, carry the knowledge, skills, and values you have gained at Columbus Tech with you. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!”
