Piedmont Columbus Regional is proud to share highlights from Piedmont Healthcare’s 2024 Community Impact Report, which outlines the organization’s ongoing efforts to improve health outcomes. Piedmont Columbus is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible care and supporting initiatives that address the most pressing health needs in Muscogee County and surrounding areas.

The report outlines how Piedmont Columbus Regional team members are actively involved in community health clinics, on-site screenings, wellness events and educational outreach. 

“These efforts are guided by the hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment, which identifies cancer, stroke, diabetes, mental health, access to care and healthy behaviors as leading health concerns in the region,” said Community Outreach Manager Melonese Close. “Another aspect of our efforts is Empowering You—Piedmont’s social care platform that helps connect patients and community members to free and reduced-cost social, economic and community resources.”

In Fiscal Year 2024, Piedmont’s invested $607 million in community impact across Georgia by providing care close to home with over 2,200 locations. 

In Columbus this was done by:

• The opening of the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital in October 2024

• 261 events where clinical staff provided health care services to the community beyond the walls of the hospitals or clinics

• 87 events in which physicians or staff shared knowledge to the community

• 55 sponsorships or other support to local nonprofit organizations

• 39 times when physicians or staff lent their expertise at community events
