Press release from the issuing company

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley are bringing together women of all diversities who have a desire to educate, engage and support BGGCV youth through development efforts in the Chattahoochee Valley with the creation of the Women’s Giving Circle. On April 10, 2014, The Women’s Giving Circle will kick off with an informational luncheon to share their mission and program goals for the remainder of the year.

At $40 per person, guests will dine at the Columbus Country Club and view artwork from BGCCV kids. The artwork will be a demonstration of the work the WGC plan to cultivate through the Fine Arts Program within the clubs. Funds raised during the luncheon will help provide supplies and resources for club members to participate in more Fine Arts related programming whether it is in the clubs or providing the opportunity to go on field trips to get exposure to various arts programs in the area.

The Fine Arts Program gives members the opportunity to tap into their inner artists, express themselves creatively and take risks in a safe and nurturing environment. With efforts and funds raised through the Women’s Giving Circle, BGCCV will be able to sustain their Fine Arts Program within the five clubs in the Chattahoochee Valley.

In addition, WGC will be able to create a local art event showcasing club members’ artwork with winners’ pieces going into the Southeast Regional competition and possibly the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts Competition. The primary goal of the Women’s Giving Circle is to provide new opportunities for the kids to learn and be exposed to more about the Arts with it all culminating in an exhibit of their works in early November at the Columbus Museum.
